That title is so emo, and I'm so not.
My boytoy is out fishing with his brother and father. Since I have the place to myself (unless you count the mosquito that keeps biting me), I've been working on a sketch for the last couple of hours. It's intended to be a mock up of an abstract piece I'm considering painting.
Let me just say that art really is pain. My my head is killing me. The problem was that I just got so into what I was doing that I didn't even consider taking a break. My eyes are strained, which is making my head hurt. The light in the kitchen isn't that great either.
Regardless of the eyes strain, the sketch is turning out pretty good. I don't feel that it is quite done yet. It's missing something. Right now, it's all curves and circles. I think a small amount of hard lines may create a great contrast. We'll just have to see though. It all depends on how it flows on the paper.
Oh, and related to my "Epiphany" entry about my need for symmetry, this piece does not have it. It has great balance so far, but you can't look at it and see mirror images from left to right or anything of the like.
Oop. Draw time is over. The boytoy is back. Ah well. I've done quite a bit anyway.
